MANSFIELD, MA, April 17, 2006 … Tom Nery, has been named Manager of PilotGEEK, LLC, an innovative business that develops software-based products for private pilots.
Nery, a software engineer with more than 30 years industry experience oversees development and operation of PilotGEEK, LLC, which will soon launch its Cell Briefer, a system that allows pilots to access weather data, flight restriction and other pertinent information through use of a cellular phone or PC.
Designed to provide an easy view of METARs, TAFs, TFRs, local flight service numbers and more, the PilotGEEK Cell Briefer will soon be available to the public.
A 1976 graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Nery’s professional career includes management positions in several high technology companies. A private pilot since 2003, Nery attained his IFR rating two years later and currently averages between 100 and 150 flight hours a year in his 1966 Piper Cherokee, affectionately known as “Pippa.”
